Hi, Found this bug relating to the problem where Xvideo
vertically stretches and truncates the display. Looking through the XF86 logs
the only relevant info seems to be: (II) fglrx(0): FBMM initialized for area (0,0)-(1024,1281) (II) fglrx(0): FBMM auto alloc for area (0,0)-(1024,768)
(front color buffer - assumption) . . . (II) fglrx(0): Largest offscreen area available: 1024 x 513 This information seems to correlate with the portion of
display which is truncated. Looks like Xv overlay is using the initialized area
instead of the auto alloc area to “scale” the overlayed image,
resulting in an image vertically stretched and severely truncated?? This may already be known, but haven’t seen any info
on addressing this bug. Workarounds cause significant increase in CPU usage, so
would be nice to see this resolved. Apparently Xvideo overlay last worked in
8.20 from what I see around the place?? Regards, Richard L |
