Package: libc6 Version: 2.3.6.ds1-4 Severity: wishlist getent passwd 1000
will look up the passwd database for a user whose uid number is 1000. There seems no way to force getent to recognise that as the user name instead, and so call getpwnam() rather than getpwuid(). Perhaps something like getent passwd --name 1000 Could be added? -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16-mh3.nim Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages libc6 depends on: ii tzdata 2006k-1 Time Zone and Daylight Saving Time libc6 recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
