Hello,
This is an issue reported by an Ubuntu user. You can find the bug report at
http://launchpad.net/bugs/62229. The problem is that the nethack man page
refers to /usr/games/lib/nethackdir ("All files are in the playground, normally
/usr/games/lib/nethackdir.") when it should refer to /usr/lib/games/nethack .
This has been fixed in Ubuntu and you can find a debdiff attached to the
Ubuntu bug report.
