Package: tomcat5 Version: 5.0.30-11 Severity: normal
I'm really not sure which package this applies to, since I'm using tomcat5 for the first time and I might be confused. When I'm using tomcat5 with kaffe, I put a link to my webapp's dir in /var/lib/tomcat5/webapps, and Just Works (tm). But, it takes AGES, like a full minute, to finish server startup (it's a fast machine). When trying with java (I only changed JAVA_HOME in /etc/default/tomcat5). Autodeploy doesn't work anymore. I even created a context configuration file in /var/lib/tomcat5/conf/Catalina/localhost/, but I keep getting the same error: INFO: Missing application web.xml, using defaults only StandardEngine[Catalina].StandardHost[localhost].StandardContext[/sps-ar] Obviously, the web.xml is still there. Also worth noting, when using this JVM, server startup takes a tenth of the time comparing with kaffe. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-2-686 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages tomcat5 depends on: ii adduser 3.97 Add and remove users and groups ii apache2-common 2.0.55-4.1 next generation, scalable, extenda ii apache2-utils [apache-utils] 2.0.55-4.1 utility programs for webservers ii gij-4.1 [java2-runtime] 4.1.1-13 The GNU Java bytecode interpreter ii kaffe 2:1.1.7-4 A JVM to run Java bytecode ii kaffe-pthreads [kaffe] 2:1.1.7-4 A POSIX threads enabled version of ii libtomcat5-java 5.0.30-11 Java Servlet engine -- core librar ii sun-java5-jre [java2-runtime] 1.5.0-08-1 Sun Java(TM) Runtime Environment ( tomcat5 recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
