Steve, Contrary to what I wrote in my original response (that I didn't copy to the bug for whatever reason), over night it occurred to me that I have actually seen the screen clobbering that you show on your screenshot - in the r827 snapshot of mondo (which didn't have the patch for #379966). (Although I did try earlier versions before without being also to reproduce.)
