This is not an acceptable rationale for downgrading a bug. ghc6 6.4.2-2 is currently very badly wedged in unstable, and there is no guarantee that it will make it to testing before release, particularly if bugs such as this are hidden from view when trying to determine if a particular update is release-critical.
