[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/] echo ">$(hostname -y)<"

So all is working finde except 'hostname -a'.
Not a big thing to correct but annoying, if you want to create files
with constructs like
CACHE=${HOME}/cache_$(hostname -a)${DISPLAY}
(ignoring, that ${HOSTDISPLAY} exist)
