Hi, first of all, thanks for your bug report. But I am not quite sure why you think that a direct build dependency on libsm-dev is necessary. libsm-dev is pulled in because libxt-dev requires it, and as long as a build dependency of gpsd keeps depending on libsm-dev, you won't end up with not having it installed when building gpsd. As far as I am aware, gpsd itself nowhere uses libsm or it's headers directly. I might be wrong of course, so feel free to disagree ;) Cheers, Til
