I don't have another USB case to test with, but I have succesfully used
this burner/case combo (they were sold together) on Windows XP and
Linux. I was able to burn using cdrecord up until 2.0a33 when the dma
check was introduced.

When cdrecord originally showed this behavior, I tested on 2.4.x and
2.6.x and had the exact same results.
