The bug submitter explicitely mentioned that this bug is not one but was due to a corrupted file system on his system. Considering the very low level of maintenance of this package, I'm seriously thinking about asking for its removal from the archive (see #385806 which will anyway trigger a removal if no-one cares enough to investigate the bug). Since I reinstalled my system, I now use ueagle_atm which is included in the kernel, and works very easily. I just believe eagle-usb is only usefull for old kernels.
