Package: wodim
Version: 5:1.0~pre4-1.1
Severity: important
I'm using kernel 2.6.19 with libata, so my PATA drives are accesible via
/dev/s*.
wodim -scanbus:
scsibus0:
0,0,0 0) 'ATA ' 'ST9120821A ' '3.04' Disk
0,1,0 1) *
0,2,0 2) *

scsibus1:

ls -la /dev/sg*
crw-rw---- 1 root root 21, 0 2006-10-08 13:23 /dev/sg0
crw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 21, 1 2006-10-08 13:23 /dev/sg1
ls -la /dev/scd*
brw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 11, 0 2006-10-08 13:23 /dev/scd0
If I now want to erase a CD (I used k3b for that) I get the attached error log.
Seems, wodim is wrongly picking /dev/sg0 as device for dev=1,0,0 or at least it
tries to access /dev/sg0 for no apparent reason and fails because it has no
access
rights (run from an unpriviledged account, which is in group cdrom).
Cheers,
Michael
