His initial problem seemed to be an incorrect usage of the charset options (-e and -w), but I introduced another bug with TagLib. I reverted the code today and saw EasyH10 running on his machine perfectly with his music collection. I also found a bug that EasyH10 crashed with MP3 files without the read permission. I couldn't imagine the situation where EasyH10 finds a file but can't open it.
