I tried to import a directory listing from a mounted cd rom containing several directories with music files (.mp3 and .vqf and some pictures) with "Generate thumbnails" enabled. The cd also has several read errors. *** glibc detected *** free(): invalid next size (fast): 0x082fe0d8 *** KCrash: Application 'tellico' crashing... Unfortunately the backtrace from the kde crash manager is not meaningful, as there are no debugging symbols. I also tried the same with a clean + new dvd (containing mp3, mpc, zips and pictures), which worked without problems. I also tried to import a directory on my harddisk copied from the broken cd, which also works correctly. My guess would be that tellico or some library doesn't gracefully handle the results from failed io operations. I'll be happy to provide more information, should it be needed.
