Other info requested: ls -ld /etc/network drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 1024 2006-10-04 12:04 /etc/network ls -l /etc/network/interfaces -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 542 2006-10-03 11:44 /etc/network/interfaces The only thing is that this information was obtained just now when the interface is working perfectly, rather than when the interface stopped working (I have re-installed my system since then). It might not make a difference since I re-installed in the same way each time, but just to let you know. If you need any more information then please don't hesitate to ask! I'm afraid I'm new to Linux so don't really know what to do, but I will happily follow instructions.
