Package: fvwm1
Version: 1.24r-50.1
Severity: important

Hello Phil,

fvwm1 does not start under UTF-8 locales:
Under fr_FR.UTF-8: it fails with
fvwm: can't get font -adobe-times-bold-r-*-*-14-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
Under ja_JP.UTF-8 and zh_CN.UTF-8, it displays
fvwm: internal error
      Request 66, Error 13
      EventType: 7
endlessly

Since UTF-8 locales are the default for Etch, it marked it as important.

fvwm1 could at least revert to C locales instead of not starting at all.

Cheers,
