Package: gnome Version: 1:2.14.3.2 Severity: important Hi folks!
My system is german but somehow KDE shows Gnome apps in english and Gnome shows KDE apps in english. I switch between KDE and Gnome regularly and use apps from both worlds in both desktop environments so this is somehow very annoying. For convinience reasons, I use gdm and its features to start KDE and Gnome session from withing it in a flexible way so I assume trying to fix this on my own with an adequate ~/.Xsession does not work very well. I would expect a user sets his prefered language _once_ (via $LANG for example) and that should reflect on both worlds without a hassle. Overriding those global settings with environment-specific settings could be optional. your thoughts? greets Michael P.S.: I've sent the same report to KDE, because I did not know who's to blame, so I think blaming both is rather fair :) -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages gnome depends on: ii gdm-themes 0.5 Themes for the GNOME Display Manag ii gnome-cups-manager 0.31-3 CUPS printer admin tool for GNOME ii gnome-desktop-environment 1:2.14.3.2 The GNOME Desktop Environment ii gnome-games-extra-data 2.14.0-1 games for the GNOME desktop (extra ii gnome-office 1:2.14.3.2 The GNOME Office suite ii gnome-screensaver 2.14.3-2 GNOME screen saver and locker ii gnome-themes-extras 0.9.0-5 various themes for the GNOME 2 des ii rhythmbox 0.9.6-1 music player and organizer for GNO ii synaptic 0.57.11 Graphical package manager ii xscreensaver 4.24-5 Automatic screensaver for X gnome recommends no packages. -- debconf-show failed -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
