Both zabbix-server and zabbix-agent fail to detach from console when restarted. You can test this with connecting to a box with ssh and restarting either zabbix daemon. After restart ssh session does not end at logout. session ends properly if restart is called like this: /etc/init.d/zabbix-server restart < /dev/null &> /dev/null BackupPC used to have similar problems in the past http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=301057 This problem also hangs logrotate. 28847 ?
