My installation shows the same behavior as reported in bug #368251. The base group is resolved but all additional groups are missing. My Single-Sign-On environment depends on that (goups) feature.
The 'stable' version of Samba/Winbind doesn't have the above bug, but shows problems as a Member server in an Win2003 ADS.
