Package: vim-common Version _1%3a6.3-058+1_all
If I type :help I get a message that /usr/share/vim/vim63/doc/help.txt.gz can't be found. That's true, because what exists is /usr/share/vim/vim63/doc/help.txt. So what's wrong is that vim is looking for a compressed file (.gz) while what exists in not compressed. This problem happened after I downloaded a new version of vim using apt-get.

I've tried to reproduce this bug, but i couldn't reproduce this bug on my box.
Can you provide some more information: Did you modify your /etc/vim/vimrc or $HOME/.vimrc ?
