Package: ntp-server Version: 1:4.2.0a+stable-6 Followup-For: Bug #299925 Hi,
As it happens, ntpd is now running as root. Seems like the parameters passed to start-stop-daemon are incorrect. It gets called with -u uid:gid here, when the manpage suggest -u takes only the uid, not uid:gid.
