point is and was what would be the default sound system in the stable Debian release. In the old days of Sarge as testing, this was OSS. I'm not entirely sure whether or not ALSA will be default for Etch or Etch +1. If the default still is OSS, then choosing ALSA also requires you to switch the PWLib plugin (that's why it's recommended) to make things work. If the default however will be ALSA, then we'll switch this with the next upload. -- Best regards, Kilian
