I'm cleaning up vsound's bug list and would like to know if your problem is still present: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=248232 OTOH, the parameter you refer to in your bug report doesn't exist AFAICT, sox chooses the output format depending on the output file extension.
