Package: ipmasq Version: 4.0.1 Severity: normal I tried installing ipmasq on a system which has nfs root. (I had a good reason for trying this, FWIW.) Result is that part way through the install, when it's setting up the masqerading, the system becomes unable to contact its nfs server.
I suspect that ipmasq is doing something like: - add default deny chain - add allow chain But these are two separate commands and it gets stuck after the default deny, and cannot run the second command. If it's not possible to keep the default route routing packets at all times during the ipmasq setup, I think you should document and/or check for nfs root and refuse to install. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.27 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages ipmasq depends on: ii debconf 1.4.46 Debian configuration management sy ii ipchains 1.3.10-15 Network firewalling for Linux 2.2. ii iptables 1.2.11-10 Linux kernel 2.4+ iptables adminis -- debconf information excluded -- see shy jo
