Package: python-feedparser Version: 4.1-5 Severity: normal feedparser tries to import libxml2 and uses it to quickly and accurately parse well-formed feeds. feedparser will continue to run if no XML parser is available, but with reduced functionality (i.e. it will not report whether the feed is well-formed, a flag that some users consider important). In my tests, libxml2 is the fastest Python XML parser available, and I (as the upstream author) feel that it should be "recommended" to users who install the python-feedparser package.
