I might have been wrong in the assumption that it was the same bug. I will open a new bug against libpisock then.

No, that's not right either. The problem is in kpilot, nowhere else. libpisock has transitioned from libpisock8 to libpisock9 and kpilot maintainers were fully aware of the needs of the transition. libpisock9 cannot now go back to the old API of libpisock8! kpilot *must* fix their code to conform to the libpisock9 API.
