Package: qemu Version: 0.8.1-1 I'm trying to install Windows XP Home (32bit) within qemu running on a dual Intel Xeon (64bit, running Etch adm64).
The installation starts by copying some files, then says "starting windows", and after a short time gives a BSOD. The output is: STOP: c0000221 Unknown Hard Error \SystemRoot\System32\ntdll.dll According to the Microsoft knowledgebase this would be an issue with corruption of the file, however the article is about already installed systems. Also, the same cd works when tested works fine on an older x86 system so I doubt the file is corrupted; though the x86 is running sid, and qemu 0.8.2-3. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (50, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-2-amd64 Locale: LANG=nl_BE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=nl_BE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages qemu depends on: ii bochsbios 2.3-2 BIOS for the Bochs emulator ii libasound2 1.0.12-1 ALSA library ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libsdl1.2debian 1.2.11-3 Simple DirectMedia Layer ii openhackware 0.4.1-2 OpenFirmware emulator for PowerPC ii proll 18-2 JavaStation PROM 2.x compatible re ii vgabios 0.6a-1 VGA BIOS software for the Bochs an ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-13 compression library - runtime Versions of packages qemu recommends: pn debootstrap <none> (no description available) pn sharutils <none> (no description available) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
