I think, the "nfs problem" still exists:

I'am runnung a diskless (vdr) system with debian etch:

|zaphod:~# dpkg -l at | grep ^ii
|ii at 3.1.10 Delayed job execution and batch processing
|zaphod:~# df
|Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
|server:/netboot/nfsroot/zaphod_etch

When i "move" /var/spool/cron/atjobs to a local tmpfs it works as expected.
