Package: cdbs Version: 0.4.47 Severity: normal When both tarball.mk and simple-patchsys.mk are in use, cdbs-edit-patch creates patches which require patchlevel 3 to apply. However, simple-patchsys only tries 1, 0, and 2.
An example package is here: http://etc.uguu.us/onscripter-insani_20060724-CDBS_BUG.tbz2 Both patches in debian/patches were created by cdbs-edit-patch and will not apply when built. cdbs-edit-patch will also fail for any patch after these; and generate similarly flawed patches. One workaround is to add cdbs_simple_patchsys_levels = 1 0 2 3 to debian/rules. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-2-k7 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) cdbs depends on no packages.
