Hello, Thanks for packaging sqlite.
I join the plea for adding support for sqlite3. I managed to do it by adding this line to debian/rules: DEB_CONFIGURE_EXTRA_FLAGS=--with-sqlite3 and rebuilding the package. Doing so will generate both shared objects: the old one for sqlite2.8 and /usr/lib/odbc/libsqlite3odbc-0.70.so for sqlite3. The old shared object is still built and installed with the same name as before, so this change doesn't seem to break apps built with odbc for sqlite2.
