Package: wormux
Version: 0.8alpha1-1
Severity: important

Hi!

Today I have installed wormux 0.8alpha1-1 from experimental.
aptitude only installed wormux (and not wormux-data), since wormux have
a depends on wormux-data (>= 0.7.4) and I have version 0.7.4-2 (from
unstable).

First, let me tell you that *I* am utterly surprised that this release *is* in experimental (look at bug #395992). (After looking back I see it was uploaded on the 6th of November).

Second, indeed you are right.

Well, the problem is that wormux 0.8alpha1-1 must depends on wormux-data
(>= 0.8alpha1), or users will get errors like this:

Changing "wormux-data (>= 0.7.4)" on the Depends line to
"wormux-data (= ${source:Version})" will fix this.

Well, yes, but I am not sure that is necessary to tie the source so closely to the data package.

Jean:
1) please be careful *not* to force us into using epochs when the stable release is due. Fortunately, 0.8.0 is greater than 0.8alpha1-1, so it should be possible to use 0.8.0-1 as the next release. I hate them and is confusing to users. 2) PLEASE tag *all* the releases you make (svn-buildpackage --svn-only-tag can be used after you are sure the changes are final). This way we can avoid work done in SVN in the way I did after you released the package without realizing it *was* released.
