Not possibel, since "xdialog" is using the GTK directors select box.
Feel free to write a bugreport agains GTK1.2 and GTK2.0

I will contact the Upstream.
Since the maintainer of "xdialog" seems not more active
and xdialg 2.3 is out since over 5 month.
