Severity: minor
The problem can be circumveneted (not solved) by selecting File -> Page
setup and selecting a 'Scale' of say 50%. Contrary to intuition this
just affects the font size, not the size of the printed area on the sheet.
Contrary to intuition the
-----
user_pref("browser.display.screen_resolution", 60);
-----
sets the 'print resolution' as well.
I guess it would be much preferable and more intuitive to set the
_printed_ font size via the font size in the preferences and to adjust
the size of fonts as displayed on the computer screen by setting the
'display resolution'. It is contra all expectations to set a font size
of 12pt and to obtain a printed copy with a font of about twice that
size. The above work around gives no control of the fontsize actually
used by the printer. It is up to trial and error to set the 'scale' to a
percentage that in combination with the individual 'display resolution'
arrives at the desired font size for printed copies.

PS: I set the severity to minor, because of the workaround. If 'waste of
paper' was the same as 'data loss', it should be set to grave ;-)
NB: Other browsers like kde's konqueror don't show this misrelation of
'screen font size' and 'paper font size'.
NB: "This preference has no effect in Windows (the OS’s DPI setting is
queried directly)." [1]
Maybe that would be a 'solution' for linux as well? Just taking the
system's settings for display and using the font settings for printing.
