package fetchmail tag 400950 upstream confirmed thanks This bug is actually a regression in 6.3.5, as a side effect of the AUTH=EXTERNAL patch and was documented by Götz Nimrill. Apparently the side effect isn't acceptable. Needs review of relevant standards to make an informed decision about the fix.
