Package: alsa-XXXXX
Version: the one in debiant etch rc1
Severity: important

The bug is in the debian etch rc1 version and is relative to alsa:
I have a laptop with realtek acl880 chip based hd audio soundcard
(identified by the system as intel-hda nvidia acl880) and everything seems
to be Ok, the volume meter shows an activity in audacity both for microphone
and playback, but there is no audible sound. I checked with alsaplayer too,
with cd-playing, with xmms too, but any success (nb: i dont't have any
desktop installed, only windowmaker). I think it is kind a bug. BTW, the
ubuntu edgy eft distro that I tested too could use (after some work because
it tries to output sound with the integrated tuner card) this soundcard.
Laptop: Asus A7TC. (I read in some ubuntu newsgroup that this soundcard
needed some patch to the kernel and/or alsa and I hope it is applied too to
debian). If you need some complementary information or program output,
contact me, you are welcome.
Thanks
