Package: sasl2-bin Version: 2.1.22.dfsg1-5 Severity: normal While upgrading sasl2-bin, /etc/init.d/saslauthd started failing at starting the executable. The reason is that the THREADS variable, that can be specified in /etc/defaults/saslauthd, is required. If you, like me, keep youre old configuration files while upgrading the saslauthd-initscript should really handle when this variable is not specified. I cant imagine that it is a required configuration option, and if so the initscript should set a sensible default?
