Package: fop Version: 1:0.20.5-5 Severity: minor Your README.Debian file has: As fop is in contrib, we can built it with libraries not in Debian. That's what I did with fop and jimi. So you only have to download jimi for the Sun web site:
http://java.sun.com/products/jimi/ and copy the jar file to /usr/share/java/ with the name jimi-1.0.jar and fop will support images. At the following URL http://supportweb.cs.bham.ac.uk/documentation/tutorials/docsystem/build/tutorials/docbooksys/docbooksys.html#DocBookSys-Chapter3-XML-Install-Fop-Jimi I find the following paragraph which I think describes how to get Jimi support in a better way. 3.5.1. Install Jimi Jimi is needed if you want to use PNG images with FOP, download it from http://java.sun.com/products/jimi/# and open the archive. On Windows, rename JimiProClasses.zip from the archive to jimi-1.0.jar and place it in the /directory/where/you/unzipped/fop/lib directory. On Unix, rename JimiProClasses.zip from the archive to JimiProClasses.jarand place it in the /directory/where/you/unzipped/fop/lib directory. It does seem to be a bit of a waste, to download a 4+ MB compressed tar file, to extract a 400+ kB jar file though. Ahhh, the joys of licensing issues. :-) -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.27 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages fop depends on: ii java-common 0.22 Base of all Java packages ii libavalon-framewor 4.1.2-2 Common framework for Java server a ii libbatik-java 1.5.1-1 xml.apache.org SVG Library ii libbsf-java 1:2.3.0+cvs20050308-1 Bean Scripting Framework to suppor ii liblogkit-java 1.2.2-2 Lightweight and fast designed logg ii libxalan2-java 2.6.0-1 XSL Transformations (XSLT) process ii libxerces2-java 2.6.2-1 Validating XML parser for Java wit ii sun-j2re1.4debian 0.18 Debian specific parts of Java(TM) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
