Because icesomethingelse sounds even uglier. And icesomethingelse would
be used then, the next fork would not
icesomethingelsebutnottheothericesomethingelse as the binary name.

And most other names have been used already... and dax has some meaning
(Digital Audio eXtraction).

Not really. But the author wished that and we respected his wish,
counting on better relationships in the future. I had to contact him
directly to be sure, since Schilling kept claiming various things
without proof. And Heiko sounded more reasonable.
