Hello,

I'd very much like if you could upload a new version of gSOAP to the
archive. Version 2.7.9a is available and stable.

I've made an NMU package of 2.7.9a. You can get it from

  deb http://mirror.phy.bnl.gov/debian-root unstable root
  deb-src: http://mirror.phy.bnl.gov/debian-root unstable root

Below follows my changelog entry for that package.

        gsoap (2.7.9a-1.1) unstable; urgency=low

          * Non-maintainer upload.
          * Update to new version. This is an NMU upload. I need a newer
            version for the AliEN gapi code (GSI and SOAP).
          * Install stdsoap2.c and stdsoap2.cpp in /usr/include/gsoap/ so that
            developers can `#include <gsoap/stdsoap2.c>' or
            `#include <gsoap/stdsoap2.cpp>' instead of linking against -lgsoap,
            or compile these files separately. The documentation actually
            suggests that the developer should compile these files into the
            server/client, so they should be distributed.
          * Added some of the examples from the `soapcpp2/samples' directory as
            normal examples. This servers as an extra source of documentation.
          * Fixed a problem in the code when passing a `unsigned char*' (by
            address) instead of a `const unsigned char*'. Line 3813 in
            stdsoap2_ssl_cpp.cpp (a symlink to stdsoap2.cpp).
          * Updated standard version to 3.7.2
          * Added copy of config.{guess,sub} and build-dep on autotools-dev
          * soapcpp2.html isn't compressed
          * Fix perm of example script root.sh
          * Improve man(1) pages
          * Do not distribute configured built-system with examples.
          * Fixed a problem in generated `soapC.cxx' files. In case of using
`-n'
            the generated code should have `#ifndef WITH_NOGLOBAL ... #endif'
around
            calls to
`soap_instantiate_SOAP_ENV__{Header,Code,Detail,Reason,Fault}'.
            Fix is to `soapcpp2/src/symbols.c', around line 846.
