I propose to extend "CYRILLIC AT RUN-TIME" section of README.Debian with another possible solution to "console is broken after switching back from X" problem. Example text follows below, (the old contents is mostly intact except for minor fix at the end of the first sentence). -- begin -- 4. CYRILLIC AT RUN-TIME Very often when you switch to X Window and back to Linux console the Cyrillic on console becomes broken. Actually this depends on the videocard and the X server you use. For most videocards it is better to setup Cyrillic before the X server is started. This package allows you this. To reconfigure it use the command dpkg-reconfigure console-cyrillic Other chipsets might require specific video driver options in order to restore all console settings correctly. For example, if you selected any font size other than 16 for console, it is necessary to add the following line into "Device" section of xorg.conf when using i810 driver with some integrated graphics controllers: Option "VBERestore" "true" Please, read 'man i810' (or 'man <your driver name>') for additional information and, more importantly, for warnings on using the options. -- end -- Probably it also makes sense to add a pointer to this section on dpkg-reconfigure page for font size configuration. -- ...Bye..Dmitry. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
