Package: wzdftpd Version: 0.8.0-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
While looking for a quick to set up FTPd I came across wzdftpd. I
installed it and tried to connect via an FTP client but wzdftpd was
not there. I checked /usr/share/doc/wzdftpd but found nothing so I
tried to restart wzdftpd like this:
,----
| $ sudo invoke-rc.d wzdftpd restart
| Restarting wzdftpd: wzdftpd.
| *** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0xb7de26b8 ***
`----
Of course wzdftpd does not survive this.
As a security measure that it was not directly connected to the system
I was using I asked a friend of mine (happy birthday, Reuben! ;)) to
try to install wzdftpd on his Debian system, too (testing, wzdftpd
0.8.0-2). Same result, same crash, no wzdftpd.
If I come around to installing Debian on my Sparc box this evening I
can try if the error is limited to i386 but please do not count on me
having time to do this.
If I can help any other way please tell me.
Greetings,
Sebastian Fontius
P.S.: Apart from emacs-snapshot I have nothing installed from
unstable.
