Package: botan1.5 Version: 1.5.11-1 Severity: serious Justification: FTBFS on i386, very likely to fail everywhere else Usertags: grid5000
Hi, During a rebuild of all packages in etch, I discovered that your package failed to build on i386. Relevant parts: g++ -m64 -Ibuild/include -O2 -finline-functions -D_REENTRANT -ansi -Wno-long-long -fpermissive -W - Wall -fPIC -c src/ui.cpp -o build/lib/ui.o g++ -m64 -Ibuild/include -O2 -finline-functions -D_REENTRANT -ansi -Wno-long-long -fpermissive -W - Wall -fPIC -c modules/es_unix/unix_cmd.cpp -o build/lib/unix_cmd.o /tmp/ccgEdXzA.s: Assembler messages: /tmp/ccgEdXzA.s:182: Error: Incorrect register `%rax' used with `l' suffix /tmp/ccgEdXzA.s:211: Error: Incorrect register `%rdx' used with `l' suffix make[1]: *** [build/lib/unix_cmd.o] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/build/root/botan1.5-1.5.11' make: *** [build-stamp] Error 2 The full build log is available from http://blop.info/bazaar/buildlogs/20061214/ I also tried to build the version currently in unstable (1.5.13-2). It builds successfully, but with a lot of "warning: integer constant is too large for 'long' type". I'm not sure if it actually works. About the archive rebuilt: The rebuilt was done on about 30 AMD64 nodes of the Grid'5000 platform, using a clean chroot containing an etch i386 environment (not unstable). Internet was not accessible from the build systems. The builds were processed as root. About Grid'5000: Grid'5000 is an highly reconfigurable experimental Grid platform gathering 9 sites and featuring a total of 5000 CPUs. It serves as a testbed for research in Grid Computing.
