I'm a bit puzzled what you mean by "there is no way to make the user changes 
his mind (logo)". Using my patched kernel-patch-debianlogo and compiling 
kernels with:
  make-kpkg --added-patches debianlogo ... kernel_image

Let's you choose between:
  Debian GNU/Linux Open Use logo (the traditional logo)
  Linux logo with Debian swirl (the new Tux logo)

If CONFIG_LOGO_LINUX_DEBIAN is already set in .config "make oldconfig" will 
only ask you about the new CONFIG_LOGO_LINUX_DEBIAN_TUX. If you do not choose 
the new logo, the traditional one will be used instead.
I don't see any problems here. And the least what I intended with my proposal 
of a new logo is that the traditional logo is replaced with the new one.
