This sound quite good. For po4a, there is section "4.3.2. Maintaining
translated documentation with po4a".

None that I am aware of right now. But please ask this on the
debian-i18n list, there are several people which can give you good
advice. Maybe you can contact also the maintainer of po4a directly,
though I'd suggest asking on the list first.

Thanks for including the german man page now, just a pitty that it
doesn't make it for Etch, or are you asking for an exception (l18n
issues are considered exception worthy)?
