I think you probably misunderstood what I meant. I assume you aren't
reading french.
The issue is not with the content negociation and browser prefs, which
are fine on my side.
The issue is with the french translation of the guide, which only points
to a version which will, in fine, be displayed also as the translated
version, and does not provide a link to the reference one in english.
Let me translate what I provided in french in the bug report initially.
So, I suggest that something like the following if provided in chapter 1 :
Les nouvelles versions de ce document devraient toujours être
disponibles en ligne sur http://www.debian.org/doc/maint-guide/.
La version de référence en anglais est disponible sur
http://www.debian.org/doc/maint-guide/index.en.html et dans
le paquet « maint-guide ». La presente traduction en français est
également disponible dans le paquet « maint-guide-fr ».
(which translates to :
Newer versions of this document should always be available online at
http://www.debian.org/doc/maint-guide/. The reference version in english
is available at http://www.debian.org/doc/maint-guide/index.en.html and
in the `maint-guide' package. The present translation to french is also
available in the `maint-guide-fr' package.)
... instead of what is at the present time in maint-guide-fr :
Les nouvelles versions de ce document devraient toujours être
disponibles en ligne sur http://www.debian.org/doc/maint-guide/ et dans

(which translates to that :
