The upstream bug report has been marked invalid. Could you submit a testcase where this bug can be shown and reopen? Otherwise we won't be able to see the "bug".
Go ahead and keep it closed; I don't even remember the "trick" to make Mozilla use symbol fonts that I mentioned in the original wishlist request.
