Package: console-data Version: 2:1.01-04 Severity: grave Hi, typing accented characters using dead keys doesn't work well for some characters in linux console. I use etch (from daily built netinst CD) with czech UTF-8 locales. When I try typing accented characters directly via keys "234567890[;", letters "ěščřžýáíéúů" are displayed correctly. When I try to type characters like "Žť", i.e. characters not present on czech keyboard, or characters "ščž" via dead key + letter, I get wrong UTF-8 character. When I try to type "áíý" via dead key + letter, it returns right characters. It seems that characters from iso8859-1 are typed well and characters from iso8859-2 extension are typed by wrong way.
I save some example set of charactes to file and I discover following
