As advised on gajim conference room, a workaround: Check ``Ignore rich content in incoming messages'' in Prefs > Chat.
Apparently, these tooltips are due to gaim sending a-bit-too-rich content (protocol=jabber, FWIW). Cheers, -- Cyril Brulebois
