On my Debian stable (everything current), the same command channel permission issue still happened; I managed to fix it by chown root on rndc.key. Given that this is more than 2 years later, how to proceed on this issue? Is this issue standard behaviour with Debian's bind9 or caused in case of some weird misconfiguration only? (which might easily be the case on my ~ 10 years old Debian server installation ;) BTW, this server had an upgrade from BIND 8 relatively recently, this might possibly have caused the problem. Speaking of which: can anyone confirm this to be an upgrade issue? (or, alternatively, can anyone state that this also happens on a *fresh* bind9 install?)
