my own recompiled perdition 1.17-7 works fine in Sarge ...

so what is different between Sarge and Etch ???
problem is probably not in perdition ...

my sarge box:

ii  libc6                               2.3.2.ds1-22sarge4
ii  libdb4.3                            4.3.27-2
ii  libgdbm3                            1.8.3-2
ii  libpam0g                            0.76-22
ii  libpopt0                            1.7-5
ii  libssl0.9.7                         0.9.7e-3sarge4
hi  libvanessa-adt0                     0.0.7-1
hi  libvanessa-logger0                  0.0.7-1
hi  libvanessa-socket0                  0.0.7-1

my etch box:

ii  libc6                               2.3.6.ds1-8
ii  libdb4.3                            4.3.29-6
ii  libgdbm3                            1.8.3-3
ii  libpam0g                            0.79-4
ii  libpopt0                            1.10-3
ii  libssl0.9.8                         0.9.8c-4
ii  libvanessa-adt0                     0.0.7-2
ii  libvanessa-logger0                  0.0.7-2
ii  libvanessa-socket0                  0.0.7-2

there is no serious changes between libvanessa-* 0.0.7-1 and 0.0.7-2
so maybe something changes in other packages ...

so how can i help to resolve this problem in Etch ???

now i don't know what next ...

i try debug option in perdition.imap4.conf or perdition.pop3.conf,
but i have only 2 "valid" lines in mail.log together with 2 "bad" lines:

Jan  2 10:29:24 ... perdition[7933]: Exiting on signal 11
Jan  2 10:29:24 ... perdition[7938]: version=1.17, ...
config_file="/etc/perdition/perdition.pop3s.conf", ...
Jan  2 10:29:24 ... perdition[7941]: Exiting on signal 11
Jan  2 10:29:24 ... perdition[7944]: version=1.17, ...
config_file="/etc/perdition/perdition.imaps.conf", ...

so why "Exiting on signal 11" ??? how can i continue ?
