While building epiphany-browser in a pbuilder chroot i get the following
somewhat
misleading error:
checking whether Python support is requested... yes
checking for a Python interpreter with version >= 2.3... python
checking for python... /usr/bin/python
checking for python version... 2.4
checking for python platform... linux2
checking for python script directory... ${prefix}/lib/python2.4/site-packages
checking for python extension module directory...
${exec_prefix}/lib/python2.4/site-packages
checking for headers required to compile python extensions... found
checking whether we can build a shared library depending on libpython... yes
checking for PYGTK... configure: error: Python not found
make: *** [config.status] Error 1
pbuilder: Failed autobuilding of package
-> Aborting with an error
-> unmounting dev/pts filesystem
-> unmounting proc filesystem
-> cleaning the build env
-> removing directory /var/cache/pbuilder/build//8660 and its subdirectories
An additional build-dep on python-gobject-dev fixed this. Full buildlog is
attached.
Cheers
